About the "Fairfield University" Installation: 

Fairfield University is a prestigous private university located in Fairfield Connecticut. Their recent movement towards creating a student living space focused on safety and sustainability lead them to Denlar.  Each of the residence hall units where students can cook are protected by our stylish and functional "Designer Series Hoods". These prevent any stove top fires that may occur while the students are utilizing the kitchen. The common area gathering spaces where cooking takes place are protected by our rubust "D1000 Series" Hoods which provide the highest level of protection short of a commercial system. By choosing Denlar, Fairfield is able to protect its current students and future students for years to come against devastating kitchen fires.  We partnered with Simplex Grinnell to provide hood systems for Fairfield U's latest construction project. Matt Curtis and Mike Wilkins were instrumental both in creating this opportunity and managing the project through completion.This job began in November of 2010 and has been the most visible (and most involved) project we have seen to date.

The successful completion of this project is sure to create more opportunities within student housing construction across the country. Thanks to our friends at Simplex Grinnell #129 for all their hard work!
